The Gifts could have ranged from digital cameras to plasma TVs or even free trips to Europe.
Normally they will begin by saying you have participated in a Lucky Draw sometime back when shopping at a particular shopping mall.. blah blah blah…
Below are the some “common” companies that I have heard of…
- Expo Management
- Global Interval consultancy (GIC) Pte Ltd
- Great Concepts
- Discovery VIII (Located at Rolex Building #18-02 Tel: 6735 2625)
- Leisure Group Marketing (Located at Taka #16-01)
(One in Delfi Orchard which I forgotten the name)
There should be another one located at Faber House but I have forgotten the name as well. The one that have surveyors scattered all around orchard road. For couples who took the survey, you are sure to win something which you need to go to the Faber House for collection. (CONFIRM WIN)
The reason of me writing this post has been prompt by the irritating sales person from “DISCOVERY VIII”
I seriously think all the time-share companies should do a Joint Venture in order to get a more “accurate database”. Just within 6 months I have 3 of these companies calling to say I won something. What?? I am like the girl from “Just My Luck” ? So lucky? How stupid can one be? Luckily my previous sales experience made me more alert of all those sales gimmicks.. Muahaha.. Wanna cheat me.. Hard lo….
Anyway, the other 2 was still “acceptable”. The most they call will only be around 2 times. Then you never listen to their call again, they give up. But this person from Discovery (Her Name – May) is the most irritating + annoying + crazy person that have ever called me. (Oh yah.. the 2nd one was from Inter-Continental Hotel – One indian guy who keep asking me to sign up for dunno what hotel benefits but.. never mind)
Ok, This “May” called me someday in early June, congratulating me that I have won an accomodation to Phuket & a stay at Sentosa. Asking me to drop by at Rolex Building to collect my gift. (Immediatly she called I know its a scam lor… So Obvious) Then she say its not a time share thing. Just that there is this new cruise line called “Discovery Cruise” whom needed a survey to be done to evaluate their price before they are officially launch. I need to come down to do the survey. Just tell them what I feel about their price packages will do. I need not purchase their cruise packages… blah blah…
The evil side of me always like to “make fun” of these stupid time share people. They always think everyone will be easily taken by their words? So when she asked whether I can come down on this certain date certain timing for collection, I said “Ok lor”. Then she asked me to wait for her there..etc… After a while, another gal called me. Saying she is May’s Manager, calling to confirm my appointment. Saying actually their working hours is 9-5, 5 days week. But MAY IS GONNA STAY BACK FOR ME. SOOOO… TOUCHED. (Again, they think everyone is stupid again. You want pple to come down for collection & want them to stay for a 1 hour survey. How could anyone spare this time during the weekdays?! Unless, Im the Boss? Or I give up my lunch hour for the unknown gift?)
Ok, I flew her an aeroplane… 
I did not turn up for that appointment. Muahaha..
She didn’t call me that night though.
Instead, she called me a few days later. Asking whether I had something on the other day or what.. Then asked whether I still wanted the gift. This time round I told her that she could void my gift. I dun think I will go down after all. Then she keep rumbling like an auntie (Btw, I thk she is not very young), saying her gift was good la.. No obligations wan la… No gimmick la.. Like an auntie persuading her child to eat something she hates but is beneficial to health. I ended a call saying I was busy. No time for her…
Then… For the next few days… At around 10pm every night.. I would get this call from the no. starting with 6735. Funny thing is… I always missed that call. Wahaha.. Not deliberately.. But just happen to be either in the movies or just did not hear the call. Since I recognised that no. Didn’t bother to call back as well. (I told Ed about the calls. Then he told me to hang them up when I hear its them again or call M1 to block their no.)
Then… Last week, when Im out with Eddie, around 9pm I guess. I received a call from a “private no.” Then I answered… Its MAY AGAIN!!! She can get the “Most Persistent Sales Staff Award man…
Anyway, she asked me to go down for collection of gift. At first, I am trying to be nice.
May: Miss Loh, When can you come down to collect your gift? Im reserving it for you.
Me: Erm.. I think its ok, I don’t think I will come down. Not free. You just give away my gift
will do lor.
May: No no… This gift is for you only. I have submitted your name already. U “MUZ” come
down to collect!!!
Me: But I already told you Im not free lor !!!
May: After work cannot meh? Or weekend lor !!
Me: I already said Im not interested already right? Just give my gift away.
May: No !! Cannot like that wan!!! U must come down lei. If not they will say I never do my
job you know? Then I have to pay a penalty of $200 leiz!! (as if I care with this attitude)
Me: I can give them a call for you to explain the situation.
May: Call who? No one to call?
Me: Call the discovery cruise la! What No.?
May: No Number !
Me: No Number?! Then they call using what? Then how you contact them? No ways of contact
how to do business? Impossible wat?! What No. to call to the Rolex Building Office then?!
May: You cannot call them like that wan! You Must Come Down!!
Me: I already told you I WILL NOT COME DOWN !!
May: Then what do you want then you want to come down?!?! What do you want now?!
Me: What do you want then?! I already told you I will not come down and thats it!!
(Eddie cant take it anymore also… Asking whether is it the time share thing agn and ask me to hang up. Yah lo.. Shd hang up long ago. Make myself so fed up)

3. $180 voucher to Sijori Sentosa (valid only for min 3D2N stay costing min $360)
(I got this info from the net. Apparently, alot of people got hit by them as well. & what do they sell exactly?
25 yr membership costing $14000 +++ which will not be valid if you come back another day!!!

I got a call from an Auntie as well and she asked me to check my mailbox. Sure enough, I got the letter from Expo Management asking me to claim my 2 free gifts *. My father has received similar letters before. The condition is that you have to attend a obligation free 2 hours presentation. Yucks, I tore the letter away. I think CASE should do something about this. They even tried to verify my details. Hate it!

But, i never go down and participate anything. Is this possible for them to do anything or apply anything for me by using my IC number?

Thanks for the threat! I just got a call from some Alan guy at this Tong building asking me to go down tml for some free sentosa and thailand hotel stay.
Even asked me not to fly his aeroplane by his manager because tml is his off day and he will be coming back just for me! Looks like they are using the same line on everyone they call.
Looks like Alan can wait till his balls drop tml but am not going!

hi i just heard one of my fren who already purchase this plan which is 20 years term.The plan roughly is like that. 1st u need to put a 1st installment which cost u around few thousand sing dollar,then after one years u need to pay $150++ every month for 20 years. What u all mention above is it like my case?please help verify this case…because my fren will cancel if found that was a scam!thanks a lot……
I think it really depends on which company he went to? Is it those they mentioned you will be staying in the castles…etc?
What I know from a friend who previously work in this kinda company is that, you will not get any successful booking for the resort/hotels.. They will always tell u they are fully booked. Worse case, there will not be anyone to pick up the phone!

She said her company is doing promotion for DHA travel agency. I asked her whether got any website of this company but she said no. She said there is no terms and conditions for me to collect the price but I must attend a 90-minutes presentation …Luckily i did a google search and found your posting!

I received call on 9th april tis ah beng called andy. in the midst of telling you of the lucky draw prizes, he can scold his colleague for pestering him. then he said no obligation…. blah blah and etc After that he said he’s a small pea so need to pass the phone to manager so can confirm the meeting. Die die must come at 2 pm. Manager is a lady said andy suppose to be off day but becos of me andy will b called for work and swopped his off day to another day…hello? am i their CEO need to report who work or dont work? then with pushy attitude said must stay for 1 1/2 hours plus got refreshments….. fishing tactics…. im going down to see how far they go and will tell them next time want to cheat no need to come down for ot i rather you stay at home.. then i also can sleep!

Today i just received a call, at 11.50am. I know something is not right, coz i believe the same thing as you, “am i so lucky”. So i go online and search, found out your website.
When they asked me what time i can go down today, they will be at Rolex building from 2 to 3.30pm. I told them i got to confirm again, but they keep on asking me when i can confirm? They need to know earlier in order for them to send over my form and prepare the gift. finally, they give me a number 65345518 which is different from their call number 65338489, and look for Florence. Of course, i won’t go down neither call them….. haha…

The numbers start 65338489, 65324171 and lots more la, every time different de. I save the numbers until i have stupid number 1 to 10 lol. Crazy people keep calling me.. even to the extend they will like say:
oh actually we are not working on weekends, but i will check with my management to see whether we can be around on that day specially to pass you the gift. haha, i say i don’t need that la, they will still persist in asking you to come, so i’ll always use meeting as an excuse.
Any1 know whether can we report this kind of calls to service providers so they can track and blacklist this numbers?

I got a call from “Florence” of “Exotic Asia Pte Ltd”. (Sounds like a porn website to me…) Anyway same old story, called me a few times, I took survey last time, one of 20 couples chosen, blah, blah, blah. Same Phone number: 65338489. I rejected the offer and she went auntie on me and when i kept refusing, she went silent. Then HUNG UP ON ME! The NERVE of that woman!
I called back the same number and asked for the Compnay Registration Number. They refused to give me! Kept asking me, for what? Why you need? I said, if this is a legitimate business, you can give me the number right? Still refuse to give. Then “Florence” came online and gave me the long silent treatment again. Pissed me off. I was very persistent till the point that she went rude and told me that you don’t want the prize then forget it loh! Then hung up on me. Ha ha ha! I had a great time pissing her off. Will call daily to irritate them. =P

I had my suspicion, but played along with them still and told them I would be going down today. She then happily passed the phone to her supervisor Florence. So, I’ll be “going down” today, not to Rolex Building, but shopping! Haha! Hope they will have fun waiting for me!

they employ me by 1st by saying i am just doing some customer service work here no more then this and sure 100% no sale involve by 1st i think it is still ok ok type of company u know then i start off by calling customer to fix appointment

Just got a call from Benson. This time they introduced themselves as “Amazing Asia”. Same mode of operation, telling me free gifts. $1000 worth of shopping vouchers to spend online (website refused to give). 1 week stay in Thailand for free, 1-for-1 cruise etc. Customer service hotline was given as 65345518. Claimed they are not working for DHA Travel but just a staff and today is the first day of promo..blah blah.
Just come down for a 90min presentation. No obligation. No strings attached. Not time-sharing.

1. $1000 online shopping voucher (photocopied it seems). must pay US$10 to process fee before getting passcode to shop at http://www.woarewards.com. we are not going to pay the money after reading this now.
2. two for one cruise with US$15 processing fee. but hey, embarking is from SAN JUAN, NEW YORK, NEW ENGLAND, MIAMI and more! (nabei. if i was there, i wont need their stupid certificate.)
3. 7 nights stay at phuket or koh samui, must attend another session during stay there. must be between ages 30 – 60 with combined income of not less than 30000 euros. (?????) must attend timeshare presentation there also. failure to do show will result in being charged the full advertised rack rate.
i got contacted by VICKY, her stupid manager, some ah beng, HELEN, CALVIN(NYU GRADUATE~ what the hell is he doing with this company then?) and his manager with freaky make-up.

Hi Kenix, thanks to your blog I know the bullsh** of them, but they using a bit different trick but same prize, so be careful :
- They called me last week and said that they conduct a survey for Amazing Asia and ask me whether I went overseas with SQ9xx (cannot remember the flight number) using business class, and I said NO. Then they continued asking about general questions like a real survey. During the phone call no selling or no free gift.
- Today I’ve received a call from 65572982. Auntie called Amy said that I’m winning a free $1000 voucher can use to buy laptop and electronics, 3D2N free holiday to Thailand and Free Cruise voucher and she tried to convince that all of these are FREE and no gimmick. What I should do is go to Thong Sia Building #18 floor (I think she tried to give wrong building name so I cannot find this blog bcause when I search Thong Sia building is a condo behind Paragon) but she keep telling the building is in the middle of Lucky Plaza and Paragon.
She describe that Amazing Asia is a travel agent company and sell 70% discount for SIA, United Air, etc (wow sounds good). She keep telling that they only want to give free gift and share about the company only for 90min not more than that.
She keep repeating the same thing all the time and finally she gave me the phone number 65365886 and then passed the phone to her supervisor to confirm the gift (lucky I did not give them my ic number or address).
So everyone out there please be careful for them..Looks like they have a new convincing scenario to attract people especially for those who like to travel.

Exact same experience as LuckyMe. Started with an innocent survey about travel habits. I thought I’ll be nice and answered the survey. No mention about the prizes. A week later, (which is about 10 minutes ago), I got the call about the prizes.
Same thing…some rolex building. Must come down today or tomorrow. Keep saying it’s not a time-share thing. Prizes listed are also the same as LuckyMe. He kept asking if he can call again. I said no. But he just replied that he’ll call tomorrow morning…

I was called for a survey on credit cards but them last week. Apparently for the banks of Singapore. I thought nothing much of it and thought they just wanted me to sign up for more credit cards.
Well today I was then called in for the so called gift collection. They put me with a pretty lady. Well I let for complete her presentation and when she ask me how is the plan I didnt want to dissappoint her but told her its ok but I am not interested, well she was kind enough to help me give some excuse to her manager. Lol

i first had a phone call out of the blue from this guy who was doing a survey (apparently for Uniquely Asia), asking me my age, job, salary range, marital status, how many credit cards i own, did i apply them myself or was approached to apply etc.
i received yet another call a week later (yesterday, actually) from a Melvin saying that they want to thank me for participating in the survey and want me to collect my gift (refer to various posts above for gist of gifts). Melvin was well-spoken, not “ah beng” at all.
the number he gave me was 6534 5518. sorry guys, i don’t have caller ID, so i don’t know if he was calling from this same number, but looking at the 2nd last post, i think he did not.
the collection address was Regency House, 3rd floor (he didn’t mention unit number), along Penang Road. he identified himself as calling on behalf of IDI, a travel agency.
then he asked me if i was 23 years old, and i said “no…”; then he asked if my salary range was between $2000 to $3000 and i replied him otherwise, and he acted all surprised and said that was what i told HIS colleague (the one who did the survey on me). then he told me to just tick under those columns while i was there so as to “tally the records”.
before i went down, i tried googling “IDI” and “travel” but did not find anything =(
there was only one unit on the third floor of Regency House and the company was “i.discover international”. i went in and asked for Melvin and the receptionist asked ME for my gift number, of which i have no knowledge of. and she asked if i was aware that i had to sit through a presentation of at least 90 minutes (negative).
i was told to wait.
eventually, i was called to the counter again, and was told that MELVING WAS TOO BUSY. i was given an envelope with the vouchers (yes, photocopied “certificates”, as detailed by aisah).
and there i was, wondering what sales pitch Melvin will present ! (i even left my debit card at home, just in case)
find this weird at all? i think it was because i look too student-ish, not at all a “purchasing executive” who commands a “$2000-$3000 salary” *smile*

The names of the staffs are Miki (supervisor), Helen (manager), Andy (sales person).
Entice people with 1) $1000 voucher; 2) Cruise voucher and 3) $100 dollar voucher for car tire service (Rhino Advanced Technologies Pte Ltd. I still have their vouchers with me. ALL is SCAM.
They pressured you to sign for the contract. Will not disclosed the price of membership.

Was scheduled to go down to regency house tomorrow (it’s regency building according to him), but after visiting this blog, i am really glad. Same thing, spoke to Andy, then transferred to manager. The ‘gifts’ are more or less the same. They present themselves as Ideas Solutions. A google online did not provide me with any useful information UNTIL i search for ’1000+scam’, that leads me to this website. Can I report this to the police? Firstly, how did the guy get my contact number. Or did i just play into his tricks?

I received the call from this guy Andy. 64381298. said I was one of the 20 lucky ones picked from some survey I did last week. (which I did)
free gifts of 1) $50 cash vouchers (NTUC or Isetan), 2)1-for-1 cruise, 3)7-8 days free accom for 5 person in Thailand, additional mystery gift for the first 2 days ( 6 – 7 Jul 10), which is starting today, worth $588 travel vouchers (which can be transferred to friends and family).
I replied that I could only attend on Thursday (which will be the 3rd day from their opening), he said he can reserve the mystery gift if I confirm attending.

He asked for my name as stated in my NRIC, so he could have it printed on the vouchers. and I am supposed to attend alone cos it is only by invitation. Even asked for my income status.
Upon hearing that I have to sit in for the 1.5 hrs talk, i back out and rejected, and suggested he give it to someone else. He hung up straight away.
Upon google the address given, this was one of the websites which lead me to know that there’s such a scam and was surprised to find that this scam started way back from 2008..

Got the call at 3pm, 65572982, a very ah soh sounding lady called Karen was looking for me by my given name. I replied her and she went on by calling me by my surname.. which she got wrong! Then she went on rambling about some thing which didn’t make sense. So asked her if she made a mistake… apparently she must be looking at a spreadsheet and looked at the wrong row.
Then she realised her mistake and asked me if i participated in a survey about holidays. I said no. Apparently, this made her switch her story to Plan B: That i have participated in some shopping mall’s contest (she didn’t specify which mall, i should’ve asked her! DANG), unfortunately i didn’t win, but she’s offering me $1k in cash vouchers, no expiry date, not a scam, can spend on everything blah blah blah (i switched off at this point), then another prize is some holiday (didn’t bother, switched off since i knew this is a scam).
She went on for a couple of minutes, i ask her what’s the catch? She told me of cos there’s no free lunch in this world, i have to go down and listen to their sales pitch, no obligations to buy, just to create awareness…
Then she asked me what time i can go down today. I told her i’m very busy and cannot go today. The she said “oh..”

Then the bitch hang up my phone! Not even a thank you for you time!

I too got a call from Diana, of Ad haven, working for Grand Seasons International! I pointedly asked her – IS THIS TIME SHRE? She said “no, no, who has time for time share, hehehe” – i then googled and of course found it IS a time share!
She called me back just 10 minutes ago, just now, and i gave her off — i said she LIED, she is SCAMMING me, it IS a time share!! she kept on denying that it isn’t! THE GALL OF THE BITCH!!!!!
Anyway, she promised me a designer watch, spa packages, make over packages – i googled again and found out that the “designer” watch is those 10 dollar watches you can buy at pasar malams, the make over package is very basic – no photoshopping, nothing, unless you want to top up and the spa packages require you to top up!!
and she also offered some free accomodation, that according to one victim on the net, has such strict terms and conditions that chances are you can’t use it! HA! Love the internet, cos i am NEVER going to let myself be scammed by GSI!!!

6535-6191 – i received spam calls from this number today. when i finally picked up, it was also asia demand. he was so evasive. got right number and profession but wrong surname. i told him it was illegal to steal numbers and i will report him to singtel and the police and he started to stutter. i also asked for his company details like registration number but they refused to give. i think he is a newbie lol and not pro at conning people yet. also promised me sure-win shopping and cruise vouchers.
i then asked where they got my number from. at first he said i did a survey within the same month. i obviously did not! then he said i joined some shopping mall/supermarket contest.
is there any way to track how legitimate this company is? i hope no more people gets conned by them!

Got a call today from a guy (caller id: 65353659) saying that he called as a followup becos i did a phone survey abt credit card last week and like to recfm my answer abt how i apply my c.card (road shows, phone or apply myself) and my occupation in customer service.
For a while i thought he’s from a bank until he told me i was being selected and won 3 ‘great’ gifts as describe above (eg. $1000 shopping vchr, hotel stay with no airtix, cruise) and that if i can come to Regecy House (next to Winsland House) today or tomorrow, i’ll get a 4th mystery gift.

Have given her my name but cannot promise that I can make it tomorrow. She kept emphasising that they want t give out the gifts before CNY. As she kept going on & on, I told her my hp battery is going flat soon. So she said can call her back at 65326030 or she’ll call at 6pm. While speaking to her, I quickly made a search & found some website including this (cos I had a previous experience with this kind of “scam”). So after we ended the conversation, I switched off my phone so as to have a peace of mind rushing thru my work.

I had to keep repeating myself that I’m not free for the whole of this week (which is true) and not sure when I will be free but he kept pressing on, trying different days. I got tenssed up, and asked her who and where r u calling from. She hang the phone.
Then I called the same from my Office landline number, She pick up the call and says”Do not call again and Do not disturb”.
Since I am very much irritated, I again called the same number and she took the phone after I tried three more times. Now She says, If i call again “She would rather inform or call to the police”.
I am still trying to the same number, she hasnt taken the phone.
These type of ladies or persons must be punished severly.

i kenna from this company called i – discovery or somthing.. or also known as Discovery VIII it is now based at the regency house or something like that.. between Dhoby Ghaut n somerset MRT. it was previously at the rolex building at orchard.
i was dumb enough to believe then.. they said it was a limited time offer to only the few selected ppl.. they showed me photos of current customers or members and how happy they are now… blah blah blah all bull shit…, but i believed them.. i paid 9 k up front… they said that u could use ur account to earn back the membership.. they said that they would email u ppl that wanted to book trips overseas on the cheap and use my account to get them the discount.. and that i could charge them a little bit more than the discounted price. and i could then use that earning to slowly earn back my membership fee…
sounds like a good deal.. u pay up half the fees first.. get cheap deals to travel.. and u get to earn back or even earn more.. by being a middle man or some sort of travel agent using ur account by letting others use ur account to make cheap bookings…
BUT! when u try calling them.. its like harder to get their staff than it is to get the president of singapore on the phone.. they did not get back to me promptly and when they did they gave me such vague info.. and when i pressed for more details they just pushed me to check the website.. and when i did.. i realised that it did not have show its availability.. so i had to try and call them again.. of which they did not pick up.. and it delayed so long until i gave up and just booked my own holiday on my own online with some other travel agent..
at that moment i tot.. shit.. i got scammed.. i cursed my luck and stupidity… and just took it as an expensive lesson..
i got this membership 2 yrs ago… now.. 2 yrs on.. they call me up and demand i pay up the remaining 9 k… this is on top of the 9 k i already paid them.. yes.. it was in the contract.. and i was stupid to sign it.. i am stuck.. i cant cough out any money anymore.. they now offer me to pay up the 9 k.. and claim they can sell my member ship for me.. and they say i will get back my money PLUS a lil bit more cos my membership has so called “appreciated” in value..
all bull shit.. and what is worse is.. for me to get back my money.. it has to be at the expense of another person to be cheated by them… i cannot bring myself to do it.. but i think they are going to bring some legal action against me.. thats what they are saying they will do.
for those that have not gotten cheated.. pls dont get urself into this… i am in a mess cos of them.. 9 k is a lot of money.. dont look at the amount that they say u will save.. look at the amount that u are paying..
for those that have been tricked and want to get out.. i am hoping that we could work together. we have to stop these kinds of companies.. i already found someone else who wants to report them but just 2 of us.. it wont make a strong case or any impact to scare the company.. we need more ppl.

May I know if you have filed a claim against this unscrupulous company. My sister got cheated by them too. She paid $5k upfront via an instalment plan with bank and it seems like she cannot terminate the plan since the bank has made an upfront payment to the company.
I would like to know what are the possible actions we can take against them. Guess it might be better for all the victims to file a claim against them.

Just got a call yesterday (14/9/10), from http://www.idiscover-intl.com at Regent House. They told me to come down, got $1000 shopping voucher, cruise & holiday trip.
My contact person wasn’t in when I went over, then they just gave me the “free gifts” and I could go without sitting through the 90 min presentation.
My warning bells went off when I noticed need to pay $$$ through CREDIT CARD, even though initially was a small amount.
Did a bit of searching (hail internet!), found this site. AMAZED this type of “company” is still around in 2006. How can the employees live with themselves doing this kind of thing!
I traced back and found http://www.vacationgetawayincentives.com/ seems they are promoting this system as a kind of business plan. To me, seems like our local scammers are being scammed themselves?

Upon google the address given, this was one of the websites which lead me to know that there’s such a scam and was surprised to find that this scam started way back from 2008..

I have been browsing the net and realize they are so many people are skeptical with this company. Im writing in so as the be fair to the company i-discover. Me and my husband took up the program 2years ago and we have been using it to travel to states,paris and hongkong. They give us what they promise,a low cost n great hotels. We have saved alot of money from our trips. I believe those who posted here are definitely not a member,i am glad that we gave it a try and realize it does works. Hope everyone is fair and do not judge a book by its cover,sometimes,things happen the other way.

I juz rcvd a call from this unty name Laura claiming from Asia Travel – she sounds like a dead person saying I have been chosen to receive a complimentary tix for 2 to either Thailand or Hong Kong (whichever I prefered)which includes a 2 weeks stay in a 5* hotel of my choice. Told to pick up at Tong Building #06-01.
I asked how they got my nbr…she answered from the Thailand & Hong Kong Tourist Board. I told her I have never even been to those countries how can they have my details? she simply answered ‘Donno’in her rude voice. I asked if this is a some sort of timesharing scam – she raised her voice and said its not a scam i do not have to pay anything but i will have to come down wif my hubby to claim the gift. I said hub not free. she asked if I have any children I said 3 and she said then the prize is for 2 adult & 2 kids only but can buy for another kid and the ticket is valid for 1 yr. I repeat my hubby not free she said she will call again aftr 6pm yesterday and she did.
At that point I have already checked with Asia Travel and they confirmed not giving any free tix and that they dont even have any branches in Tong Bldg. I told the Aunty Laura I am not interested becos 1)she has no etiquette in Frontline service 2)its too good to be true 3)Asia Travel confirms they dont have such an offer or offices in Tong Bldg….so what the hell has she offer a gd explanation on this? Aunty Laura said if i am not interested then dont have to investigate or ask further and she hung up! Well just to note that her number is 68367514.

This happen on Friday, I recived a call saying that a friend of mine reffered me to them (which my friend did), and wanted me to attend a presentation that will last not more then 90mins… after that I will get to choose one of the following gifts
1. Handphone or $50 shopping voucher (Isetan or NTUC)
2. 1 for 1 cuise
3. hotel stay at phuket or samui
So I went… haha!! with the intention of not signing up any package.. and want to get NTUC voucher. heh.!
They ask me a few question, whether if I like traveling.. this/that… Although I really like travelling, but I told them no… No intentino of travelling at all… say I got no money to traval.. ha!
Then they disappointed and let me leave and gave me the $50 NTUC voucher…
I scam them instead.. haha!!

I have received a call using the same marketing gimmack this morning. They are gathering people this weekend again. I felt skeptical and found this online. His name is Bernard and the contact details are 6836-7526 and 6836-7531.
According to a friend of mine who has attended, they would make you sit through the presentation and convince you to sign up for their memberships. Indeed my friend and his wife did. However when the couple wanted to use the package to go overseas, the travel agent will try to put you in a difficult spot such as restricting the hotels you wanted to stay in and giving excuses on the countries you want to visit. The suggested packages of destinations, flight and accomodation are lousy and at your most inconvenience or many hidden costs. So much so that it puts you off in planning the holiday with them. Eventually, you will realise the membership you paid for is useless.
I guess they are using these tactics to “con” the public and manage to avoid legal responsiblity. They did fulfil what they have “promised”. It was the members who have the choices but rejected the packages. They could argue afterall terms and conditions in an agreement are bound to have “fine prints”.

I received the call today. And I made a police report already after googling abt it and found it a scam.
Details as follows:
-Calls himself David from IPG Travel (Tel: 68367537). -Everything is similar to all those mentioned.
-Promised to not be a timeshare sales talk etc.
-Mentioned the 3 free door gifts.
-Has all my personal particulars already – which is scary. -Some mini NATAS travel exhibit also, about 90mins to browse and for him to explain to me.
After I said I’ll go down, he asked his supervisor to give speak to me as a verification. Supervisor (which I highly suspect is a bogus, prob a colleague) Melvin spoke to me, also stressed that actually is David’s off day, ask him to come back specially for me.
I forewarned David that I am a Self-employed investor(which he actually already have this information), plus formally educated in the Tourism industry. I will read n gather the travel information, dun need him to go thru with me, plus I am in the investment industry – will not take sales gimmicks as investment.
David offered to sms me the full address with postal code, but did not. I tried calling back the number, no answer. Googled the telephone number and “Regency Tower 03-15″ and found it’s a scam, made police report at nearest NPP.
But since I didnt go down, I have not lost “suffered any losses”, the policy will only keep the report for record purposes. DAMN IT! Those who did went down, Please go and make a police report and make sure an investigation is going on! I have had enough of these scams!!! I actually bother to spend 45mins infront of the officer on duty to draft my report, please also do a gd deed and report these pple.
I have a good feel to go down tmr and see the place. Then I can make a proper report again, but I am not free lah!

Zen is right. I encountered these for my first few bookings.
1. Unable to get the hotels we wanted and suggested some others, many of them 3 stars…blah blah.
2. Hidden cost needed to pay upon checking in hotel…etc.
3. USD exchange rate way above current market rate (now 1.26, yet they quoted 1.4)
4. Customer service did not reply or ack our email request until we kept calling to pester them.
5. Their hotel rates are not competitive, as we are able to find other cheaper rate for same hotel online.
6. Most of the hotel they quoted do not include breakfast.
